ブライドルレザーは、創業当時から
万双のものづくりを⽀えてきた、
かけがえのない素材です。

⻑年にわたり、私たちはその堅牢さと美しさに
魅せられ、
主に内装のパーツにヌメ⾰を
組み合わせて⼩物を仕⽴ててきました。

しかし、ブライドルの存在感を
余すところなく伝えるために、

すべての⾯をブライドルで仕⽴てた
製品をつくること——

それは、
創業以来の夢でもありました。

Bridle leather is an irreplaceable material that has supported
Manso’s craftsmanship since our founding.
For many years, captivated by its durability and beauty,
we primarily crafted small goods by combining it with
vegetable-tanned leather for interior parts.
However, creating a product entirely crafted from bridle
leather—one that fully conveys its presence—
has also been a dream since our founding.

Technique

硬さをほどく、技。

ブライドルレザーは、とても硬く、厚みのある⾰です。
加⼯前のその質感は、まるで⽊の板のよう。

内装にまで使うとなると、厚みが出すぎてしまううえに、
縫製や加⼯の精度も⼀段と求められます。

職⼈たちは、幾度もサンプルを重ね、⾰の厚みをわずかに削り、
針の⾓度を調整しながら、⼀枚の⾰と真摯に向き合い続けました。

そうしてようやく、
ブライドルレザーの持つ重厚感をそのままに、
美しく仕⽴てる⽅法を⾒いだしたのです。

Bridle leather is an exceptionally stiff and thick leather. Before processing,
its texture resembles that of a wooden board.
Using it for interior components not only results in excessive thickness
but also demands a higher level of precision in sewing and finishing.
Our artisans persistently engaged with each piece of leather,
repeatedly creating samples, subtly shaving the thickness, and adjusting needle angles.
Finally, they discovered a method to beautifully craft the leather while preserving its inherent richness and weight.

重厚を軽やかに仕⽴てる。

ブライドルレザーの魅⼒を最⼤限に引き出すために、
職⼈たちは、仕⽴てのすべての⼯程を⾒直しました。

厚みを削る深さ、折りの⾓度、針を通す速さ。
ほんのわずかな違いが、仕上がりの印象を左右します。

ひとつひとつの⾰の表情に合わせ、⼿の感覚と経験を頼りに調整を重ねていく。

その積み重ねによって、
ブライドルレザーの堅牢さと上品な艶が、
より美しいバランスで形となりました。

To maximize the appeal of bridle leather, our artisans have reexamined every step of the crafting
The depth of thickness reduction, the angle of the fold, the speed of needle penetration.
The slightest difference alters the finished impression.
Adjustments are made repeatedly, relying on the feel of the hand and experience,
tailored to the character of each individual piece of leather.
Through this accumulation, the durability and elegant sheen of bridle leather have been shaped
into a more beautiful balance.

Creating Shape

残す技が、⽣むかたち。

ひとつの財布に使われているのは、
重ねるとこれほどの高さになるブライドルレザー。

その力強さを損なわないよう、残すべき芯だけを見極め、
厚みを静かに整え、仕上げていきます。
こうした細やかな工程が、ひとつの財布を支えています。

ブライドルレザーの確かな芯が息づいているのは、

こうした丁寧な⼯程があるからこそです。

The bridle leather used in a single wallet reaches this height when stacked.
To preserve its inherent strength, we discern only the core that must remain,
gently adjusting the thickness before finishing.
These meticulous steps support each wallet.
The lightness felt when held is underpinned by the bridle leather’s solid core—
a result of this careful craftsmanship.

この⼩さな⾰⼩物には、想像を超えるほど多くの⾰が使われています。
⼀つの財布を仕⽴てるために、すべてのパーツを広げると、
バッグ⼀つ分に相当する⾯積のブライドルレザーが必要になります。

それは、どの部分にも妥協せず、
外装から内装の細部に⾄るまで、
⾰そのものの品格と存在感をまっすぐに伝えるため。

This small leather accessory uses an unimaginable amount of leather.
To assemble a single wallet, spreading out all the parts requires an area of bridle leather equivalent to that of a full bag.
This is because we make no compromises on any part—from the exterior to the finest interior details—
to convey the inherent dignity and presence of the leather itself.
The weight you feel the moment you hold it is not just the thickness of the leather itself,
but also the weight of the craftsman’s pride poured into every single part without reservation.
